January 18, 2023 – The Asia Foundation, through its Coalitions for Change (CfC) program, recently held the 4th run of its Introduction to Development Entrepreneurship webinar via Zoom for special groups and individuals interested in pursuing policy reform.

Development Entrepreneurship (DE) focuses on the central role of leaders and the use of entrepreneurial principles to bring about positive developmental change. Drawing on decades of research and experience, the approach is a proven way of how leaders can use DE principles to introduce and implement policy reforms that result in improving outcomes for their communities.

The 2.5-hour webinar featured TAF’s Mr. Rene Sanapo, Program Manager, Leadership Development Team for CfC, who discussed the 12 Development Entrepreneurship Principles critical to a reform’s success. Meanwhile, Ms. Toix Cerna, TAF-CfC’s Mobility and Education Reform Consultant, talked about the Application of DE in Policy Reform.

Some 20 participants from Simbahang Lingkod ng Bayan, Stockholm Environment Institute, fellows of Bayi, Inc., employees from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and a staffer from the office of one Philippine senator, attended the webinar.

The introductory course is a prerequisite for those who wish to enroll in the DE Online Course happening on February 3 to March 3, 2023. The DE Online Course was first launched in July 2021, and is supported by The Asia Foundation Philippines- Coalitions for Change Program and the Australian Government.
