Development Entrepreneurship Online Course: New Community of Learners seek to upgrade their policy reform skills
February 1, 2023

The Asia Foundation, with the support of the Australian Embassy in the Philippines, is holding the 4th Development Entrepreneurship (DE) Online Course and Welcome Session on February 3, 2023 via Zoom to support a community of reform leaders in using the DE approach to policy reform.

Her Excellency Hae Kyong Yu, Australian Ambassador to the Philippines, and Mr. Peter Yates, Associate Director, Governance/Australian Partnerships Advisor, are expected to grace the event.

Some 68 learners have signed up for the 4-week online course called Development Entrepreneurship: 12 Keys to Successful Policy Reform. The course aims to capacitate development leaders from NGOs, corporate foundations, the academe, and the public sector on how to pursue reforms effectively, build coalitions, and engage with the government to enhance public policies. The online course will utilize the Thinkific Learning Management System.

The fourth batch of enrollees for the online course will have access to videos, reading materials, handouts and worksheets on theory, tools, and case studies to give them a theoretical foundation to use Development Entrepreneurship in their reform work. There will be live sessions from February 3 to March 3, 2023 where the learners will be able to meet and interact with the course’s resource persons.

The TAF- Coalitions for Change Leadership Development Team is piloting a new live session to maximize learner interaction with resource persons. A full hour will be dedicated to a Q&A format to allow participants to ask questions and seek clarification on key Development Entrepreneurship principles.

Following completion of the online course, potential mentees will be invited to participate in the Development Entrepreneurship Mentoring Program. A mentee team will be matched with a mentor, and work on one reform together.

The Development Entrepreneurship Online Course is open to learners from all over the world. Since 2021, the program has seen 236 learners graduate from the course from 22 countries.
